These are so good that I make them year round. But this time of year pumpkin spice is the best. Am I right?
Quick note, if you don't want to add protein powder no worries, just add in more flour.

INGREDIENTS
Makes 24 muffins
2/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
¼-½ cup brown sugar, depending on how sweet you want it
4 eggs
2 cans pure pumpkin
1/2 cup milk (any variety)
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp pumpkin spice
1 tsp nutmeg (more or less to preferred taste)
1 tsp ginger (more or less to preferred taste)
2 cups white whole wheat flour
1 cup protein powder (or sub in 1 cup flour or ½ cup flour and ½ cup ground flax seed)
1 cup chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 12 count muffin tin.
Combine all ingredients through ginger. Beat on medium speed.
Add flour and protein powder if using. Beat on medium speed. (Batter will be thick.)
Stir in chocolate chips.
Scoop batter into your greased muffin tin.
Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick/fork inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let muffins cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing.
You can freeze leftovers!
